$degree \: farenhit = \frac{9}{5} degree \: celcius + 32$

For both to be same

I.e. degree celcius =degree farenheit.

$f = \frac{9}{5} f + 32$

$f - \frac{9}{5} f = 32$

$\frac{5f - 9f}{5} = 32$

$- 4f = 32 \times 5$

$- 4f = 160$

$f = \frac{160}{ - 40}$

$f = - 40 \: degree \: farenhit$

and,

$c = - 40 \: degree \: celcius$

so,at -40 both Celsius and fahrenhiet have the same magnitude.
