In above fig. firstly we have to find height ( HF ) of triangle.

In ∆ FGH

→ GH² + HF² = GF²

→ 5² + HF² = 13²

→ HF² = 169 - 25

→ HF = √144

→ HF = 12 cm

Area of ∆FGH = 1/2 × b × h

→ 1/2 × 5 × 12

→ 5 × 6

→ 30 cm²

There are 2 ∆ so multiply it by 2

→ 2 × 30

→ 60 cm²

Area of rectangle ABEF = L × B

→ 20 × 17

→ 340 cm²

Area of figure = Area of rectangle + Area of triangle

Area of figure = 340 + 60

Area of figure = 400 cm²
