Find the three consecutive terms in an whose sum is 18 and the sum of their square is 140

Let the three consecutive terms :
x , x+1 , x+2
ATQ
x + x+1 + x+2 = 18
3x + 3 = 18
3x = 15
x = 5
So the three terms are :
5 , 6 , 7

Hi

Let ( x - 1 ) , x , ( x + 1 ) are three

consecutive numbers ,

Sum = 18

x - 1 + x + x + 1 = 18

3x = 18

x = 18/3

x = 6

Therefore ,

Required numbers are ,

( x - 1 ) = 6 - 1 = 5 ,

x = 6 ,

x + 1 = 6 + 1 = 7

Sum of their squares = 5² + 6² + 7²

= 25 + 36 + 49

= 110
