here, the frequency is 400 , then the time period would be

1 ÷ 400

Frequency = The number if sound waves in a second

Time period = Time taken for 1 wave

1 ( second ) : 400 ( waves ) : : X ( time ) : 1 ( frequency )

second × frequency = waves × time

( second × frequency ) ÷ waves = time

let us substitute ,

( 1 × 1 ) ÷ 400 = time

1 ÷ 400 = time

1 ÷ 400 is the answer
