Given :

  • A polygon

To Find :

  • Total area of the given polygon.

Using the formula :

( Area of the given polygon) = (area of ∆ABC) + (area of the rectangle EFGH)

\sf{{ \: :⟼  \:  \frac{1}{2} (BC × AD) + BE × BC +  \frac{1}{2} (EF + HG) × LM }{ \: }}

\sf{{ \::⟼  \:  \frac{1}{2} (BD + DC) × AD + BE × (BD + DC) +  \frac{1}{2} (BC + HG) × LM  }{ \: }}

\sf{{ \::⟼ \:   \frac{1}{2} (3 + 9) × 7cm² + 15 × (3 + 9) cm² +  \frac{1}{2} [(3 + 9) + 20] × 10cm²  }{ \: }}

\sf{{ \::⟼  \: 42 cm² + 180 cm² + 160 cm² = 382 cm²  }{ \: }}
