We have to find the total capacitance between A and B if each capacitor is 4 pF.
solution : first rearrange the capacitors in the right way.
see figure, wires AP and BQ doesn't have any capacitor. so wire AP and BQ are considered as points on A and B respectively as shown in figure.
now there are A, P and B, Q two points, put all capacitors as given in the circuit. [ see figure ]
now we found relevant arrangement to find equivalent capacitance.
two capacitors are in series combination
so, 1/C₁ = 1/C + 1/C = 2/C
⇒C₁ = C/2 = 4pF/2 = 2pF
C₁ , C and C are in parallel combination
so, Ceq = C₁ + C + C
= 2pF + 4pF + 4pF
= 10 pF
Therefore the equivalent capacitance should be 10 pF
