We see that the charge of an electron is almost 1.6 x 10-19 C

Q= n x e, n = 6.022 x 10²³ and e= 1.6 x 10⁻¹⁹ C

now, in 5 mg, = 5 x 10⁻⁶ kg and mass of the electron = 9.1 x 10⁻³¹ kg

now, no. of electrons = given mass/mass of electrons

= 5 x 10⁻⁶ / 9.1 x 10⁻³¹ kg = 5.5 x 10²⁵

so, Q= 5.5 x 10²⁵ x 1.6 x 10⁻¹⁹ C = 8.8 x 10⁶ C

similarly, for 10 g,

10 x 10⁻³ kg,

n= 10⁻³ / 9.1 x 10⁻³¹ kg = 1.2 x 10²⁶

Q = n x e now,

Q= 1.2 x 10²⁶ x 1.6 x 10⁻¹⁹ C = 1.92 x 10⁷ C
