Find the total deviation produced the following ray diagram.

First of all , see the attached diagram very carefully !

  • \delta is our total deviation.

  • The angle made by emergent ray with the incident ray gives us the deviation angle.

Now, I have drawn BD \perp CE.

Now, CE || BZ and EB is trasversal:

\angle FEB +\angle EBY = 180°

\implies \delta + 60° = 180°

\implies \delta = 120°.

So, net deviation is 120°.
