The area under the velocity-time graph gives the displacement of a body

as the graph has been already sectioned in different parts therefore :

area under the slope = area of ABF + area of BCGF + area of CDHG + area of DHIE

AREA OF ABF = 1/2 * AF *FB

= 1/2 * 2 * 5

= 5m

AREA OF BCGF = FG * GC

= (AG - AF) * 5

= (6 - 2 ) * 5

= 4*5

= 20m

AREA OF CDHG = 1/2 * (DH + CG ) * (GH)

= 1/2 * (10 + 5 ) * (AH - AG)

= 1/2 * 15 * (8 - 6 )

= 1/2 * 15 * 2

= 15m

AREA OF DHIE = 1/2 * (DH + IE ) * HI

= 1/2 * (10 + 5 ) * (AI - AH )

= 1/2 * 15 * (10 - 8 )

= 1/2 * 15 * 2

= 15m.

area under slope = (5 + 20 + 15 +15 )m

= 55m.
