Answer:

Given :

Mr.X spends 10% on his house decoration

20% on books.

The total expenditure is Rs. 6000

To find :

The total income of Mr. X

Solution :

Let the income of Mr. X be Rs. A

Money spends on his house decoration

= 10% of the income

= 10% of A

= 10% × A

= (10/100)×A

= (1/10)×A

= Rs. A/10

Money spends on books

= 20% of the income

= 20% of A

= (20/100)×A

= (1/5)×A

= Rs. A/5

Total expenditure = (A/10)+(A/5)

LCM of 10 and 5 = 10

= (A+2A)/10

= Rs. 3A/10

Given that

The total expenditure = Rs. 6000

=> 3A/10 = 6000

=> 3A = 6000×10

=> 3A = 60000

=> A = 60000/3

=> A = Rs. 20000

Answer :

◆The income of Mr. X is Rs. 20000

Let total income be = x

after spending 20% of x he has = 80/100x

after spending 70% of remaining he has

= 30/100 x 80/100 x

= 30/100×80/100x= 1800

= 1800× 100 /24 = 300× 25=7500
