Given:   a triangle with a base that has 100 coins.

To Find : total number of coins needed to form triangle

Solution:

To Find number of coins needed to form triangle we need to find

triangular number

T_{n}=\sum_{k=1}^{n}k

n = number in base

so here n = 100

T_{100}=\sum_{k=1}^{100}k

= 100 * 101/2

= 50 * 101

= 5050

Hence 5050 coins are needed to form a triangle  with a base that has 100 coins
