as in both the circuit resistor is connected parallely and after those two resistors are connected in series therefore in circuit 1 total resistance will be 1/4+1/4=1/2

in circuit 2 resistance will be 1/6+1/6=2/6 =1/3

therefore total resistance when connected in series will be 2+3=5 ohm
