The diagram can be modified as shown in attachment.

Let R be the equivalent resistance.

Between EF both resistor are in parallel.

So, Resistance of EF = 1/2 ohm

Between CD resisrance = 1 + 1/2 = 3/2 ohm

Between GH both resistor are in series

So, resistance of GH = 1+1 = 2 ohm

Arm GH, CD and IJ are parallel

 \frac{1}{r}  =  \frac{1}{2}  +  \frac{2}{3}  +  \frac{1}{1}  \\  \\  \frac{1}{r}  =  \frac{3 + 2 + 6}{6}  \\  \\ r  =  \frac{6}{11}o hm
