CSA= 2πrh=2x22x8x42/7

=2112cm2

TSA = CSA+2 Base area

=2112+2πr 2

=2112+2x22x8^2

=2112+2816=4928cm2

Since it is a container so it will not have upper portion

Given that,

radius of cylinder(r) = 8 cm

height(h) = 42 cm

total surface area = 2πr(h + 1)

= 2 × 22/7 × 8 (42 + 1)

352/7 × 43

= 2162.28 cm²

Now,

curved surface area = 2πrh

= 2 × 22/7 × 8 × 42

= 2112 cm²
