Given :-

  • A cuboid which is 5 metre long for 4 metre broad and 3 metre high

To find :-

  • Total surface area of cuboid
  • Lateral surface area of cuboid
  • Diagonal of cuboid

Solution :-

  • Length of cuboid (l) = 5m

  • Breadth of cuboid (b) = 4m

  • Height of cuboid (h) = 3m

Total surface area of cuboid

→ 2(length × breadth + breadth × height + Length × height)

→ 2(lb + bh + lh)

→ 2(5 × 4 + 4 × 3 + 5 × 3)

→ 2(20 + 12 + 15)

→ 2(32 + 15)

→ 2 × 47

→ 94 m²

So, total surface area of cuboid is 94m²

Lateral surface area of cuboid

2(length + breadth)height

→ 2(l + b)h

→ 2(5 + 4)3

→ 2 × 9 × 3

→ 18 × 3

→ 54 m²

Hence, lateral surface area of cuboid is 54

Diagonal of cuboid

→ D = √l² + b² + h²

→ D = √(5)² + (4)² + (3)²

→ D = √25 + 16 + 9

→ D = √25 + 25

→ D = √50

→ D = 7.07m

Therefore,

  • Total surface area of cuboid = 94 m²

  • Lateral surface area of cuboid = 54 m²

  • Diagonal of cuboid = 7.07 m
