GIVEN:

Height of cylinder=100cm

radius of cylinder=0.35cm

To find :

The total surface area of a cylinder

Solution:

To find the total surface area of a cylinder

                                   TSA=2\pi R^{2}+2\pi RH

Where, R=radius of the base

            H=height of the cylinder

Now putting all the values in the formula

                    TSA=2\pi 0.35^{2} +2\pi 0.35*100\\       =2*3.14*0.35*0.35+2*3.14*0.35*100\\       =0.7693+219.8\\       =220.5693cm

HENCE, The total surface area of a cylinder is 220.5693cm

Theory: Here I have divided the formula into two parts, the first part consist of base area of the cylinder and the second part consist of curve surface area of the cylinder. So adding the area of the base of cylinder and the curve surface area of the cylinder gives the total surface area of the cylinder.
