Given:

Hollow metallic hemisphere in which

  • Internal Radius = 14 cm
  • Thickness = 7 cm

To find:

TSA of hollow hemisphere = ?

Solution:

Total radius = Internal Radius + Thickness

➝ Total radius = 14 + 7

➝ Total radius = 21 cm

TSA of hollow hemisphere = 2πr²

⇒ TSA = 2 × 22/7 × 21 × 21

⇒ TSA = 2 × 22 × 3 × 21

⇒ TSA = 22 × 126

⇒ TSA = 2772 cm²

TSA of hollow hemisphere = 2772 cm²

KNOW MORE:

  1. Volume of hemisphere is half the volume of sphere which is equal to 2/3 πr³
  2. Curved Surface area of hemisphere = 2πr²
  3. Total Surface area of solid hemisphere = 3πr²

\huge \tt \orange { solution}

Total radius = 14+7=21 cm

TSA of hollow hemisphere=2πr²

TSA = 2×22/7 ×21×21

TSA = 2×22×3×21

TSA = 22×126

TSA = 2772cm²
