Answer :

  • Surface area of solid cylinder is 2464cm²

Given :

  • Diameter of base is 28cm
  • Height of cylinder is 14cm

To find :

  • Total surface area of a solid cylinder

Solution :

Given that ,

  • Diameter of base is 28cm
  • height is 14cm

Now we have to find the radius ,

Diameter is 28cm so ,

》Radius = 28/2 = 14cm

Now Total surface area of a solid cylinder :

As we know that,

  • Total surface area of cylinder = 2πr(r + h)

where , r is radius 14cm , h is height 14cm

》 2πr(r + h)

》2 × 22/7 × 14 (14 + 14)

》2 × 22 × 2 (28)

》 44 × 2 (28)

》 88(28)

》 2464cm²

Hence , Surface area of solid cylinder is 2464cm²

Given

  • Diameter of base of cylinder = 28 cm
  • Height of cylinder = 14 cm

To find

  • Total surface area of cylinder

Solution

⇨ We know, T.S.A of cylinder is 2πr(r + h) , where :-

  • r - radius
  • h - height

⇨ But, we do not have the radius , but have the diameter , so we can dinf radius with the relation between radius and diameter :-

  • d = 2r
  • 28 = 2r
  • r = 28/2
  • r = 14

Hence, the radius is 14 cm , now substitute the values , and find T.S.A :-

  • 2πr(r + h)
  • 2 × 22/7 × 14 (14 + 14)
  • 44/7 × 14 (28)
  • 88 × 28
  • 2464

Hence, the total surface area of cylinder is 2464 cm²

Learn these

  • Curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh
  • Volume of cylinder = πr²h
