Given :-

  • A cuboid length 5cm, breadth 4cm, height 2cm

To find :-

  • Lateral surface area of cuboid
  • Total surface area of cuboid

Solution :-

  • Length of cuboid = 5cm

  • Breadth of cuboid = 4cm

  • Height of cuboid = 2cm

As we know that

→ Lateral surface area of cuboid = 2(l + b)h

Where " l " is length , " b" is breadth and " h " is height.

Now, according to the question

→ Lateral surface area of cuboid

→ 2(l + b)h

Put all the values

→ 2(5 + 4) × 2

→ 2 × 9 × 2

→ 4 × 9

→ 36cm²

Total surface area of cuboid

→ 2(lb + bh + lh)

→ 2(5 × 4 + 4 × 2 + 5 × 2)

→ 2(20 + 8 + 10)

→ 2 (30 + 8)

→ 2 × 38

→ 76cm²

Hence,

  • Lateral surface area of cuboid is 36cm²

  • Total surface area of cuboid is 76cm²
