1 Answer

(i) side of a cube = 8m.

TSA of the cube = 6a2 = 6 x 64 = 384 m2

LSA of the cube = 4a2 = 4 x 64 = 256 m.

(ii) side a 21 cm.

TSA = 6a2 = 6 x 21 x 21 = 2646 cm2.

LSA = 4a2 = 4 x 21 x 21 = 1764 cm2.

(iii) side a = 7.5 cm.

TSA = 6a2 = 6 x 7.5 x 7.5 cm2 = 337.5 cm2

We know that

Total surface area of cube =6a²

( where a= side of a square)

Therefore, total surface area of cube of side 8m =6a²

6(8)²=6(64) =384m²

Also,

We know that,

lateral surface area of a cube =4 a²

Therefore , lateral surface area of cube of side 8m = 4(a)²

=4(8)²=4(64) =256m²
