2x + 3y = 92 (1)

4x = y + 2

4x - y = 2 (2)

multiply equation (2) with 3

12x - 3y = 6

2x + 3y = 92

12x - 3y = 6

14x = 98

x = 98/14

x = 7

2x + 3y = 92

2(7) + 3y = 92

3y = 92 - 14

3y = 78

y = 78/3

y = 26

therefore x = 7, y= 26
