find the two numbers such that one of them exceeds the other by 8 and their sum is 90

let the two numbers be x and x+8

If their sum is 90 

Now,

x+x+8 = 90

2x +8 = 90

2x = 90-8

2x =82 

x = 82/2

x = 41

Now,

two numbers are :- 

41 

and 

41 +8 =49
