let one number be x then another one will be 42-x
since their LCM are 72 then they completely divide it
let's check out the prime factors of 72 i.e. 2*2*2*3*3
now check out the combination of prime factors which is smaller than 42 i.e 24
so the two numbers formed are x=24 and 42-x=18
SO TWO NUMBERS ARE 18 AND 24..
