Answer:

1.2m and 2m

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

Area of trapezium = 1.6 sq m

Altitude, h = 10 dm = 1 m

To Find :-

The two parallel sides.

Formula to be used :-

Area of trapezium

Solution :-

Let one of the parallel sides be x

And the other side be (x + 0.8) m

According to the Question

Area of trapezium, A = (1/2) × h × (a + b)

⇒ 1.6 = (1/2) × 1 × (x + x + 0.8)

⇒ 3.2 = 2x + 0.8

⇒ 2x = 3.2 - 0.8 = 2.4

⇒ x = 1.2 m

1st Side = 1.2 m

2nd Side = (x + 0.8) = 2 m

Hence, the parallel sides are 1.2 m and 2 m.
