altitude h = 10 dm = 1 m

let one of the parallel sides be x then the other side will be ( x + 0.8 ) m

Recall that area of trapezium , A = ( 1/2)

x h x ( a + b )

1.6 = ( 1/ 2) ×1 × ( x + x + 0.8 )

3.2 = 2 x + 0.8

2x = 3.2- 0.8 = 2.4

therefore , x = 1.2 m

( x+0.8 ) = 2m

thus the parallel sides are 1.2 m and 2m
