Solution

X=40°[as the ∆ABD is Isosceles triangle.AB=BD]

and..

Z=40°+X=40°+40°=80°

and..

now for∆BCD..BC=BD

therefore..

y+y+80°=180°

=>y=100°/2

=>y=50°
