Your answers:

(i) Here, P = 15 cm, B = 8 cm and H = x cm

By Pythagoras theorem,

H² = B² + P²

x² = 8² + 15²

x² = 64 + 225

x² = 289

x = √289

x = 17 cm

(ii) Here, P = x cm, B = 4 cm and H = 5 cm

By Pythagoras theorem,

H² = B² + P²

∴ P² = H² - B²

x² = 5² - 4²

x² = 25 - 16

x² = 9

x = √9

x = 3 cm

(iii) Here, P = 7 cm, B = 24 cm and H = x cm

By Pythagoras theorem,

H² = B² + P²

x² = 24² + 7²

x² = 576 + 49

x² = 625

x = √625

x = 25 cm
