Where c = hypotenuse, a = opposite side, b = adjacent side.

we have the value of c and b as 13 and 12 respectively.

So the equation becomes, 13 = √a²+12²

By rewriting the equation we get, a = √13²-12²

so a = √169-144 = √25 = 5

Here a is half of the length, so the actual length is 2xa = 2x5 = 10
