8-11=Upper limit is 11

12-15= Upper limit is 15

16-19= Upper limit is 19

You can see that the difference between the Upper limits of the consecutive class interval is 4. So the upper liMit of the next class interval will be 19+4=23 and so on.

Hope this helps you.

Upper limits of given Class intervals are 11.5, 15.5 and 19.5

Given:

Class intervals 8 - 11, 12 - 15, 16 - 19

To find:

The upper limit and Lower limit

Solution:

Given

Class intervals 8 - 11, 12 - 15, 16 - 19

Here, given class intervals are not continues but inclusive class intervals

Let's know about Inclusive Class interval

Inclusive Class Interval:

  • An inclusive class interval is a inclusive method of sorting data into a frequency distribution table.
  • In this a method, the lower limit of a class is not repeated as the upper limit of the preceding class.
  • To find the lower and upper limits in Inclusive Class Interval we need to add 0.5 to upper limit and subtract 0.5 from the lower class limit.

So we can find the upper limits of class intervals as given below

For Class Interval 8 - 11

Upper limit = 11 + 0.5 = 11.5

For Class Interval 12 - 15

Upper limit = 15 + 0.5 = 15.5

For Class Interval 16 - 19

Upper limit = 19 + 0.5 = 19.5

Therefore,

Upper limits of given Class intervals are 11.5, 15.5 and 19.5
