Hii dear,

◆ Answer -
Valency of S in SO2 => +4
Valency of S in SO3 => +6
Valency of P in P2O3 => +3
Valency of P in P2O5 => +5

● Explanation -
Let x be the valency to be determined.

1) In SO2
x + 2(-2) = 0
x - 4 = 0
x = +4

2) In SO3
x + 3(-2) = 0
x - 6 = 0
x = +6

3) In P2O3
2(x) + 3(-2) = 0
2x - 6 = 0
x = +3

4) In P2O5
2(x) + 5(-2) = 0
2x - 10 = 0
x = +5

Hope this helped you...
