(1/ √2)² + (1/2)²

1/2 + 1/4

2 + 1/4

3/4

Cos square 45° + sin square 30°

Cos 45 = 1/root 2
Sin 30 = 1/2

(1/root 2)^2 + (1/2)^2
= 1/2 + 1/4
= 2+1/4 = 3/4
3/4 is the value.
