\huge\underline\mathcal{Answer}:-

x = 4

y = 7

\huge\underline\mathcal{Explanation}:-

Given that,

In a parellelogram ABCD,

BC = 16cm

DC = 27cm

AD = 4x

AB = 4y - 1

To find,

x = ?

y = ?

Solution,

As we already know that opposite sides of parellelogram is always parallel.

As per this property,

AD || BC

AB || DC

If opposite sides are parallel, The length of a sides will be equal.

That means,

AD = BC

4x = 16 \\  x =  \frac{16}{4}  \\ x = 4

AB = DC

4y - 1 = 27 \\ 4y = 27 + 1 \\ y =  \frac{28}{4}  \\ y = 7

\bold\fcolorbox{black}{white}{Hence, x = 4 ; y = 7}
