Before answering your question, I would like to introduce the ASTC rule. (Although you must me knowing it). For cosine ratio the rule states that cos x is positive if x lies in first or fourth quadrant otherwise negative.

Now as per your question cos (-1410°) = cos (-360 x 4 + 30°) which clearly lies in 4 the quadrant at 30° from x axis. So using the formula cos (2nπ + x) = cos x [Here π=180°] therefore cos (-1410°) = cos 30° = √3/2.
