(a+b) (a-b) = a^2 - b^2


Therefore
2^2 - (√3)^2 = 4 - 3

(2 + √3)(2 - √3)
[(a - b)(a + b ) = a^2 - b^2
= 2^2 - √3 ^2
= 4 - 3 = 1
