We have to find the value of ( 2a - 1 )(a + 1 ) on putting the value of a = 1

Substituting value in equation :

( 2a - 1 )(a + 1 )

=> ( 2 × 1 - 1 )(1 + 1 )

=> ( 2 - 1 )(2)

=> 1 × 2

=> 2

Hence, our required answer is 2
