Find the value of 2x - 3 from the given figure.

Base of the triangle = 6cm

Height of the triangle = 8cm

Hypotenuse of the triangle = x

∴ According to Pythagoras theorem,

(Height)^{2} + (Base)^{2} = (Hypotenuse)^{2}

=> (8)^{2} + (6)^{2} = x^{2}

=> 64 + 36 = x^{2}

=> 100 = x^{2}

=> x = \sqrt{100} = 10

Hence, we got x = 10

So by the question,

2x - 3   (Putting value of x = 10)

= 2 × 10 - 3

= 20 - 3

= 17 (Ans)
