 \frac{ \sqrt{3} - 1 }{ \sqrt{3} + 1 }  \times  \frac{ \sqrt{3}  - 1}{ \sqrt{3}  - 1}  \\  =  \frac{3 - 2 \sqrt{3}  + 1 }{3 - 1}  \\  = 2 -  \sqrt{3}  \\  = a + b \sqrt{3}
a = 2
b=-1
