Given : 5a² – 7a – 8a² + 4a²

To Find : value

Solution:

5a² – 7a – 8a² + 4a²

Like terms are the terms whose variables and their exponents are the same.

Rearrange the terms and bring like terms together

5a²  +  4a²  -  8a²  - 7a

= 9a²  -  8a²  - 7a

=  a²  - 7a

= a (a - 7)

5a² – 7a – 8a² + 4a²  = a²  - 7a

=  a (a - 7)
