Add: 13 + 24 = 1 · 43 · 4 + 2 · 34 · 3 = 412 + 612 = 4 + 612 = 1012 = 56

The common denominator you can calculate as the least common multiple of the both denominators - LCM(3, 4) = 12Add: 56 + 12 = 56 + 1 · 32 · 3 = 56 + 36 = 5 + 36 = 86 = 43
