Given : Equation (1) as \frac{3}{7}×\frac{7}{6}

To Find : Product of fractions given

Solution:

  • For this question we will use the following property:

Multiplying a fraction by the reciprocal of its multiple is equivalent to dividing it by the given multiple.

  1. The expression \frac{3}{7} × \frac{7}{6} can be written as \frac{3}{6} × \frac{7}{7}  (Commutative property of multiplication)
  2. On reducing  \frac{3}{6} we get \frac{1}{2}                                 ( 3 × 2=6)
  3. On reducing \frac{7}{7} we get 1
  4. Now we will multiply \frac{1}{2} by 1

\frac{1}{2}

\frac{3}{7} × \frac{7}{6} = \frac{1}{2}

Hence, final answer is \frac{1}{2} or 0.5
