x2-6x+a=0

a, b are the zeroes of the polynomial

= a +3=6 --(i)

aB = a ---- (ii)

Given

3a +2B = 20 --- (iii)

Solving i and iii we get

a=8

B=-2

Substitution these values in ii we get

(8)(-2) = a

a= -16
