Is it b multiplied by root 3 or b raised to root 3. If it is multiplied than answer is A= 2 B= -root 3

Grzesinek: * = multiplied, ^ = raised (see for example MS Excel). Your answer must be correct.

\frac{\sqrt3-1}{\sqrt3+1}=\frac{(\sqrt3-1)(\sqrt3-1)}{(\sqrt3+1)(\sqrt3-1)}=\frac{\sqrt3^2-2\sqrt3+1^2}{\sqrt3^2-1}=\frac{3-2\sqrt3+1}{3-1}=\frac{4-2\sqrt3}{2}=2-\sqrt3\\\\2-\sqrt3=a+b\sqrt3\\a=2\\b=-1

Klarin: Great way of writing your answer.
