Answer:

a = 1
b = 12

Step-by-step explanation:

If x = 7
a*7^2 - 7b + 35 = 0
49a - 7b = -35      i)

If x = 5
a*5^2 - 5b + 35 = 0
25a - 5b + 35 = 0
25a - 5b = -35      ii)

Multiplying equation i) by 5 and ii) by 7

245a - 35b = -175
175a - 35b = -245

Subtracting equation ii) from equation i)

245a - 35b - 175a -(-35b) = -175-(-245)
70a = 70

a = 1
Putting a = 1 in equation i)

49*1 - 7b = -35
-7b = -35-49
-7b = -84
7b = 84
b = 12

Have a good day ^^
