x2- 1 = (x + 1)(x - 1) => x = + 1 or x = - 1
p(1) = 1 + 1 + 8 - a + b = 0
=> 10 = a - b---(i)
p(-1) = 1 - 1 + 8 + a + b = 0
=> -8 = a + b--(ii)
(I) + (ii)
10 - 8 = a - b + a + b
2 = 2a
a = 1
b = - 9
