Answer :-

  • Roots of the quadratic equation are - 2 and 7 respectively.

Given :-

  • A quadratic equation x² - 5x - 14

To Find :-

  • Value of a, b and c.

Solution :-

Here is a quadratic equation

- 5x - 14

Quadratic equation is in the form of ax² + by + c

  • a = 1
  • b = - 5
  • c = - 14

Now we'll find roots of the equation.

- 5x - 14

→ x² - 5x - 14

→ x² - 7x + 2x - 14

→ x (x - 7) + 2 (x - 7)

→ (x + 2) (x - 7)

________________

  • x + 2 = 0

→ x = 0 - 2

→ x = - 2

  • x - 7 = 0

→ x = 0 + 7

→ x = 7

_______________

Hence, the roots of the quadratic equation are - 2 and 7 respectively.
