In the figure, ∠DOB,∠AOC and ∠DOA ,∠BOC are vertically opposite angles, and are equal to each other,

First let's substitute the expressions 2a-5 and a+35.

As we know the magnitude of ∠a=40°, 2a-5= 2(40-5)=2(35)

∴75= a+35

As ∠DOA and ∠BOC are vertically opposite angles they are equal to each other,

∠b=∠c

As b and c are equal it will be easier if we name b as c or c as b.

I prefer naming b as c, and 2 times c is 2c
