Answer:

9

Step-by-step explanation:

if the value of x is -1 then the equation will be

        2*2 + (-1)-a = 6

     =>4-1 - a = 6 ( As 2*2 = 4)

    =>3-a = 6

    =>-a = 6-3 (transporting +3 to RHS)

    =>-a=3

   =>-a*-1 =3 * -1 (Multiplying both sides by -1 as the variable a is negative )

   => a = -3

So the final answer is a= -3

Verifying

2*2+(-1)- (-3) = 6

=> 4-1-(-3)=6

=> 3-(-3)=6

Since there is 2 negative sign ,

 3+3=6
