 x+ 2 = 0

  so , x= --2

4x4 + 2x3 --3x2 +8x + 4k

 now putting the value of x in the equation

    4 ( -2)4  + 2(--2)3  - 3(--2)2 + 8 ( --2)  +4k = 0

 4(   16  )   + 2(-- 8   )  --3( 4   ) --  16    -+4k  = 0

64 - 16 -- 12 -16 +4k  = 0

64 - 44 + 4k = 0

20 +4k = 0

4k  = - 20

k =  - 20 / 4

  k = - 5

I hope this helps you .

x+2=0

x=-2

p (x)=x^4+2x^3-3x^2+8x+5 a=0

(-2)^4+2×(-2)^3-3×(-2)^2+8×-2+5a=0

16+2×(-8)-3×4-16+5a=0

16-16-12-16+5a=0

-28+5a=0

5a=28

a=28/5
