question :-

find the value of 'a' if x=3; y=1 is a solution of the equation 3x-y=a ?

To find :-

Value of 'a'

Given :-

  • x = 3

  • y = 1

Solution :-

put the given values in the equation .

\bold{:\longrightarrow \: 3 \: x \:  -  \: y \:  =  \: a}

\bold{:\longrightarrow \: 3 \:  \times  \: 3 \:  -  \: 1\:  =  \: a}

\bold{:\longrightarrow \:9\:  -  \: 1 \:  =  \: a}

\bold{:\longrightarrow \:8 \:  =  \: a}

Varification :-

Put the values in the equation .

  • x = 3

  • y = 1

  • a = 8

\bold{:\longrightarrow \: 3 \: x \:  -  \: y \:  =  \: a}

\bold{:\longrightarrow \: 3 \:  \times  \: 3 \:  -  \: 1 \:  =  \: 8}

\bold{:\longrightarrow \:9 \:  -  \: 1 \:  =  \: 8}

\bold{:\longrightarrow \:8 \:  =  \: 8}

\bold{:\longrightarrow \:LHS \:  =  \:  RHS }

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \bold{\bigstar\: \:  \:  \:  \:  \: hence \: varified }
