Given:-

Find the value of "a" as in the following figure.

To Find:-

The value of "a".

Note:-

If there is rectangle made below angle then it represents 90°

As this is 4 sided angle when they are added, they makes 360°.

For finding some unknown values, we rearrange the term from its side to another and that times signs are also changed. For example - positive becomes negative, multiple becomes divisional.

Solution:-

First two known angle = 90° ( as told in note first point ), Two unknown angle = 2a, a

According to note second point ( 4 sided angle sum = 360° )~

▪︎ 4 \ \ sided \ \ angle = 360°

▪︎ 90° + 90° + 2a + a = 360°

▪︎ 180° + 3a = 360°

According to note third point ( rearrangement )~

▪︎ 3a = 360° - 180°

▪︎ 3a = 180°

▪︎ a = 180° ÷ 3

After doing calculations~

▪︎ a = 60°

a = 60°

Checking:-

Let's check that 4 sided angle makes 360° or not?

 90° + 90° + 2a + a = 360° \ \ ?

Applying the value~

 90° + 90° + 2 × 60° + 60° = 360° \ \ ?
